This page explains details about Denmark green card, how the points are calculated for denmark green card scheme, which fields are counted for Denmark greencard. You can see here how points are given for your education, age, work experience, language skills, adaptability and age.
Denmark Green Card Scheme is new point based immigration system for Denmark. Initially candidate is granted a tree year residence permit. This is issued on bases of individual evaluation using point based system like some other countries UK, Australia and Canada immigration.
In order to be granted a residence permit under the Greencard scheme, you must attain at least 100 points. Points are given for: educational level, language skills, work experience, adaptability, and age.
You must have full health insurance covering you and any accompanying family members until you are covered by the Danish national health insurance.
You must get at least 100 points from the following sections
Education Level
Language Skills
Work Experience
Adaptability
Age
Educational level
You can receive maximum 105 points in education level section.
To receive points in education section, you must have minimum the equivalent of a Danish Bachelor’s degree.
Your education level will be assessed it’s equivalency to Danish education level. In some cases your education level will be converted to Danish education level and then it will be assessed for points in education section. This will be required because academic system vary from country to country.
For example simple graduation degree in Pakistan that is known as BA (Bachelor of Arts) is a 2 year degree. It is not equivalent to Danish graduation level as graduation in Denmark is 4 years degree. So you will get points after its assessment by CIRUS.
Under Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation CIRIUS is a body working to assess your education level. CIRIUS will need your diplomas, degrees and educational certificates along with transcripts (Mark Sheets).
Note: Your education level will only be assessed if required by Immigration Services for specific applications. CIRIUS will only access your academic level if asked by Immigration Services for your application. And CIRIUS will not assess your education before your application for Green Card Scheme.
You will receive Points as follows:
Bachelor’s degree/Graduation (medium-length): 30 points.
Bachelor’s degree followed by one-year Master’s degree: 50 points.
Master’s degree: 60 points.
PhD: 80 points.
You will also receive 10 bonus points if your degree qualifies you to work in section where Denmark is having shortage of skilled professionals. This list of profession is called positive list.
Language skills
You can receive maximum 30 points for language skills.
To assess the language skills for Denmark Immigration in Denmark Green Card Scheme, You will be given points on language skills based on four level system. This is modelled by official Danish Language Proficiency tests for foreigners. Danish Language Test has four levels, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and the Study Test in Danish as second language.
To receive points for language skills you must have passed exam in either Danish, Swedish, norweigian, English or German corresponding to at least level 1 of Danish Language Test.
You can receive points from one of Scandinavian languages plus one from English or German this criteria is explained here
Language Section 1: Danish or Swedish or Norwegian (One from these three languages)
AND
Language Section 2: English or German (One from These two)
You can choose two languages from each section to receive points for language skills section of your Denmark Immigration in Denmark Green Card Scheme. In this case you will get points for both of your languages.

Level equivalent to Danish Language Test Level 1: 5 points. (IELTS 3.0)
Level equivalent to Danish Language Test Level 2: 10 points. (IELTS 3.5 to 4.5)
Level equivalent to Danish Language Test Level 3: 15 points. (IELTS 5.0 to 6.0)
Level equivalent to Study Test in Danish as Second Language (Studieprøven) or higher/one year’s study or work: 20 points. (IELTS 6.5 or above or TOEFL Computer Base:200 or TOEFL Internet Base:72 or TOEFL Paper Base:533)
In an alternative of language test, you can provide your language skills with a statement from your employer attesting that you have used Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, English or German language on your job for at least one year.
OR
You can present documentation that you have completed at least one year of education at a higher educational level which was taught in one of above languages. And it will be equivalent level that Study Test in Danish as a Second Language called Studieproven in Danish.
Work experience
You can receive maximum 15 points for your work experience.
You can get points for your work experience within last five years. To get points in work experience section you should have worked as researcher or in field in which Denmark is now facing shortage of qualified professionals. To see these fields and related job titles in the positive list.
Points for your work experience are given as follows:
1 to 2 years within past five years as researcher or in field on Positive List: 10 points.
3 to 5 years within past five years as researcher or in field on Positive List: 15 points.
3 to 5 years within past five years, other work: 5 points.
Adaptability
You can receive maximum of 15 points in adaptability.
In this section you can receive points for your education or work related attachment to EU/EEA (EU: European Union, EEA: European Economic Area) or Switzerland. This is seen to increase your ability to adapt quickly to Danish labour market. Points will be given for Work OR Education not for both.
Points will be given as follows:
Completion of at least 1 year of study at higher educational programme in EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 5 points.
Completion of at least 3 years of study at higher educational programme in EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 10 points.
OR
At least one full year (12 consecutive months) legal residence and work in EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 5 points.
At least two consecutive years of legal residence and work in EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 10 points.
You will receive 5 bonus points for Danish language skills (if you have passed exam in Danish Language Test Level 2 or higher.
Age
You can receive maximum 15 points for your age.
Points are given as follows:
35 to 40 years: 10 points.
34 or younger: 15 points.
